Business Talent 2026 Student Competition
A Smart Solution for Everyday Life!
Business Talent is a competition for eighth- and ninth-grade students from primary schools across the Liberec Region. During a one-day event, the girls and boys will get acquainted with modern technologies at the iQFABLAB makerspace, test their technical skills and learn the basics of entrepreneurship. Once again, the winning teams will compete for valuable prizes for their schools!
Our goals
Inspiring Enthusiasm for Technology: We want to inspire primary school students in the Liberec Region to explore modern technologies and develop entrepreneurial skills. Our competition is designed to encourage them to discover the world of technology and innovation.
Expert Guidance and Feedback: We provide guidance from experienced iQFABLAB instructors and valuable feedback from an expert jury after each round of the competition. Our experts help students improve their projects and skills.
Discovering Talents: We encourage students to discover their hidden talents through fun and practical activities. We help them identify their strengths and choose a secondary school that best matches their abilities.
Community Engagement: We motivate students to actively involve their communities in the competition for the Public Choice Award. They can experience viral marketing and word-of-mouth in practice while gaining valuable feedback from their entire school.
About the Competition
The Business Talent student competition aims to give participants—boys and girls from eighth and ninth grades of primary schools—a positive experience of creative work using both their minds and hands, combining the technologies of the modern iQFABLAB makerspace with entrepreneurial skills.
The competition is organized by the Agentura regionálního rozvoje and the science center iQLANDIA, in cooperation with the Liberec Region, under the auspices of Jitka Skalická, Member of the Liberec Regional Council responsible for Education and Sport.
This year, participants will receive components that they will use to create a smart solution for everyday life. We’ll keep the details to ourselves for now :-)

What to Expect
➡️ The competition consists of eight preliminary rounds, with each round dedicated to one school.
➡️ The preliminary rounds will take place in autumn, from 23 September to 15 October 2026.
➡️ The winning team from each round will advance to the final and create a one-minute promotional video to present their project.
➡️ The final will take the form of a closed vote by the expert jury and the competition partners.
➡️ The Public Choice Award voting on 1012plus.cz will run from 3 to 18 November 2026.
➡️ The results will be announced at a ceremonial awards ceremony on Thursday, 26 November 2026, held for schools and competition partners.

Competition Rules
Competition Structure
One winning team will emerge from each of the eight preliminary rounds and will then advance to the final round. In the final round, each team will submit a presentation of its project idea in the form of a short video and text.
The final round will take the form of a closed vote by an expert jury consisting of judges from the preliminary rounds and representatives of the competition partners. Based on their review of the presentations, the jury will select the overall winner, second-place and third-place teams from among the winning teams of the preliminary rounds.
The winning teams from the preliminary rounds will also compete for the Public Choice Award through an online vote on this page. Only one vote per person will be counted. We reserve the right to remove obvious attempts at automated voting before the final vote count.

2nd place: CZK 15,000 voucher for polytechnic education
3rd place: Portable filming kit
The winning class will also receive a free opportunity to take an interesting educational visit to Praktik System s.r.o. in Stráž pod Ralskem.

The ranking is determined by an expert jury through a closed vote.
