Moonshot is coming to Liberec. It will bring Yemi, young leaders from across Europe, and visions that could change the world.

What if it really works out? What if the ideas and visions that may sound almost improbable today become reality within just a few years? This is the central premise of the conference MoonshotX Liberec – What if we get it right?, which will take place on Wednesday, May 6, from 4 p.m. at Linserka in Liberec. The event will offer inspiration and remind audiences that behind every great achievement, there is ultimately a courageous person willing to do something for others.

Representatives of the international Moonshot Platform Foundation community will come to Liberec — young leaders and innovators developing projects at the intersection of business, technology, creativity, and social responsibility. Many of them are already making an impact on a global scale. This will not be a conventional conference: MoonshotX will offer a dynamic format inspired by leading international events, featuring English as the main language, short spotlight presentations, moderated discussions, and ample space for networking.

The event, which is part of this year’s Anifilm programme, is organized by the Regional Development Agency together with the Liberec Region and Moonshot Platform. The platform was founded by Yemi A.D. — choreographer, visionary, aspiring SpaceX astronaut, entrepreneur, and also a native of Liberec.

“At Moonshot, we believe that real change comes from people who are close to the problems — those who experience them firsthand and truly understand them. That is why we create space for young leaders who bring not only ideas, but also authentic experience and the courage to drive change. At the same time, it is essential for us that they have a seat at the table where decisions about their future are made. MoonshotX in Liberec is about showing that even in a region, voices can emerge that have the power to influence the world,” says Yemi, whose personal story will open the evening.

Eight young leaders

A total of eight inspiring young personalities from different countries will take the stage during the evening. Among them will be Yasmine Abdu from the United Kingdom, founder of the AI platform CarbonTrac, which helps people make more sustainable choices in their everyday shopping and has become one of the prominent young voices in climate innovation.

From Austria, Tamara Höfer will attend — founder of the initiative Richtungswechsel, which focuses on prison reform and the resocialization of prisoners in Europe. The voice of young people from the Netherlands will be represented by Jethro Tieman, founder of FarmBizAfrica, a platform bringing information and innovation to millions of African farmers.

The Czech contribution to the programme will come from Tereza Pivná, founder of the InSync brand, which connects natural dietary supplements with education around women’s hormonal health and menstrual cycles, as well as Petr Banda, co-founder of the Association of Roma Youth and a member of the Advisory Council on Youth of the Council of Europe. In his work, he focuses on strengthening the civic engagement of Roma youth, preserving the memory of Roma history, and connecting young Roma people across communities.

“We need young people in the region who have ideas, energy, and the courage to try new things. That is exactly why we bring events like this here — events that show that the future is not shaped only in high-level politics, but above all by people and communities. By concrete projects and the everyday work of those who decide to make a difference,” concludes Edvard Kožušník, Deputy Governor of the Liberec Region for Economic and Strategic Development.

More information, a link to purchase tickets, and profiles of all eight young leaders and conference speakers can be found in the Events section.
