This year’s edition focuses on environmental protection and nanotechnologies with practical applications. You will visit the laboratories of the Technical University of Liberec and other innovative nanotechnology companies from the Liberec region, meet the leaders of domestic and global nanoresearch, representatives of progressive businesses, investment companies, diplomats, and interesting foreign institutions.

The conference is held under the patronage of the Minister for Science, Research, and Innovation, Marek Ženíšek; the Minister of Industry and Trade, Lukáš Vlček; the Governor of the Liberec Region, Martin Půta; and the Rector of the Technical University of Liberec, Miroslav Brzezina.

When and Where? 

NanoCzech 2025 takes place on Thursday, 20 November 2025, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, in two parts: 

Morning session (9:00–12:00): Guided tours of laboratories at the Technical University of Liberec and selected nanotech companies in the region. 

Afternoon session (12:00–19:00): Conference and EXPO at the Vratislavice 101010 Cultural Centre – expert talks, networking, and a closing panel discussion.

FACES OF THE NANOCZECH 2025 CONFERENCE:

Prof. RNDr. Martin Pumera, Ph.D., one of the world’s most cited scientists and a pioneer of Czech nanoscience. He leads research in nanomaterials and microrobotics at the Technical University of Liberec (TUL) and CEITEC. At the conference, he will present the latest directions in research and sustainable technologies of the future.
Ing. Mgr. Lukáš Dvořák, Ph.D., an expert in nanomaterials for water treatment from the Technical University of Liberec. He transfers research results into practice and demonstrates how nanotechnologies help protect the environment.
Ing. Luboš Komárek, MSc., chairman of the NANOPROGRESS cluster and a key figure in Czech nanotechnology. At the conference, he will show how nanofibers are transforming medicine, industry, and environmental protection.
Ing. Jiří Kůs, president of the Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association and founder of nanoSPACE. He promotes Czech nanotechnologies and brings a vision of a sustainable and interconnected future.
Mgr. Jan Filip, Ph.D., a scientist from Palacký University Olomouc and founder of the startup Global Water Nanotechnologies. He focuses on the use of nanomaterials in water and soil purification.
Šimon Trčka, director of the Advanced Materials and Technologies Hub within the Czech Innovation Hub. He connects startups, research, and industry to accelerate the practical adoption of nanotechnologies.
Mgr. Stella-Lea Ludková, an experienced CzechTrade export consultant specializing in consumer goods, HORECA, and services. She also gained experience during an internship at the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU.
Ivan Ponomarev, Ph.D., head of development at Elmarco and an expert in Nanospider™ technology. He focuses on the application of nanofibers in filtration, medicine, and energy sectors.

International Speakers:

Dr. Denis Koltsov, an internationally recognized expert in the commercialization and standardization of nanotechnologies. He leads the consulting company BREC Solutions and has long collaborated with organizations such as ISO, CEN, IEC, and OECD in developing global standards in the field of nanotechnology.
Prof. Dainius Martuzevicius, professor at Kaunas University of Technology and co-founder of several Lithuanian start-ups in advanced materials and clean technologies. His research focuses on air quality, filtration media, and nanostructured materials with environmental and biomedical applications.
Prof. Ioannis A. Ieropoulos, professor at the University of Southampton and a global pioneer in renewable energy systems. He develops EcoBot robots powered by microbial fuel cells and leads the PEEPOWER® project, which delivers innovative solutions for sanitation and energy self-sufficiency.
