High impact of Advanced Materials and nanotechnologies on environment and communities.
Nanomaterials as well as newly coined “advanced material” have been used over nearly two decades in shaping our lives from electronics and consumer products to medicine, defence and climate change. Applications in advanced concrete, self-cleaning surfaces, medical devices as well as large scale water and soil remediation earned credibility for this research and investment area. There are many less well-known areas where the impact of nanomaterials is so significant that it needs a serious public debate.
