The regional self-government is significantly involved in the field of ICT. The Smarter Region concept developed in the premises of the Regional Development Agency for the Liberec Region was approved in 2019. The concept sets priorities for the use of smart technologies (especially ICT) for areas within the competence of Liberec Region. Following this, an action plan was drawn up for pilot projects in selected topics, which have a great chance of being implemented in the next three years. The plan was awarded the first prize in the VISION category in the fourth year of the Smart Cities competition by the Smart City Innovations Institute in 2020.
